Having recently started to experiment with Mini-humbuckers and Firebird pickups, this request to rewind a floating mini-humbucker was very well timed.

The owner wasn't happy with the sound of this stock pickup on his archtop - it was dull and muddy. Very much not what a mini-hubucker should be.

It was very overwound, and came with two ceramic magnets, so it was decided to go with a lower output, and AlNiCo 5 magnets.

This gave it bright clear sound, and increased the dynamic response, exaclty what the owner was looking for.
